Lady Ga Ga – Do What U Want

I was pleasantly surprised when I first heard this new ‘Lady Ga Ga’ track.  I also imagine I am deeply entrenched between the wheels of a monster rolling bass machine, churning the atmosphere from the second I click play.  The next shock is the inclusion of R Kelly, presumably ‘Ga Ga’ managed to trap him in the studio between periods of “looking for the after party”.  “LGG” gave a live  performance on the UK version of the X Factor*.   A master of suggestive gesticulations ‘LGG’ showed us spinning, rolling and writhing, first on stage, then over a piano and finally in the arms of Sharon Osbounre.  After a recent Twitter fued the pair made up and the now confirmed new best buds hugged for the audience and all the world to see.  HOORAH!

No Meat Dress this time…

‘Do what u want’ is the second release from ‘Art Pop’, after the underwhelming ‘Applause’ and this is a much needed injection of substance, where ‘Applause’ seemed like a call from an attention hungry narcissist.  ‘Do What U want’ has subtext and Ga Ga’s overall performance is more sexually subversive than usual.  So much so she felt the need to strip completely naked on stage at G.A.Y in London last week.  The album features collaborations from Madeon, Will.I.am, ZEDD and Twista and regular producers Redone and DJ White Shadow, but who ever helped nurture this little gem into existence deserves the biggest Applause of all.

Lady Gaga – Do What U Want (Audio) ft. R. Kelly

5 out of 5 Disco balls for this one…

*X Factor: I believe this show is vile, soul destroying barley watchable entertainment, sucking the heart from music, musicians and anyone trying to make it in the music business.
