Phil Everly passed away on 3rd January at the age of 74.  He was one half of the ‘The Everly Brothers’.  At the height of their popularity in the late 1950s and early 1960s, they scored 28 hits in the UK and were among the first 10 performers inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame when it opened in 1986.  My memory of ‘The Everly Brothers’ began in the late eighties and early nineties travelling to France each year in the back of my fathers gold Montego with  a caravan attached.  My sister and I we’re drip feed fifties and sixties classics and ‘The Everly Brothers’ tracks became a staple part of those summer journeys.  One thing they never played?  Disco…
